Chill In the Air

With the chill of Fall weather upon us, it seemed appropriate to introduce some divalicious cold weather apparel.

I was really surprised at how incredibly soft and snuggly the material felt.  Even my buddy who ended up modeling these kept on and on about how super soft the sweaters turned out.

It’s designed to stay on the shoulders with the Doodle Diva and flowers on the front.  But my buddy had fun with it draping off a shoulder and wearing it backwards for an even cuter vibe.  

Kind of brings to mind the glorious days of ‘Flashdance”, the Go-Go’s and Valley Girls. 

Regardless.  Whatever way you wear it, it’s a diva delight!

One Step Closer To a Purse

I live for the day I get to actually design Doodle Divas purses and handbags.  Until that day, I'm tickled to at least offer its distant cousin . . . tote bags!

As soon as I posted a pic on Facebook, I sold completely out.  Two boutiques have already ordered a bunch of them to stock their stores.  

It makes sense.  Not only are they uber cute, they're uber functional!  

I'm so excited . . . what the heck!  I'm giving one away.  Just tell me what you typically put in your tote bags.

Frank's Bride

I never watched "The Bride of Frankenstein."  But I totally got into her hair.  In retrospect, her hair was super duper way ahead of its time.  

I think a lot of rappers in the 90's adopted it and called it a 'roof top.'

Talk Like A Pirate Day

America actually has a Talk Like a Pirate Day.  It's September 19th, Wednesday, this year.  

Luckily, I already had a few Doodle Divas pirate themed items in place well before I heard of this occasion.  

The latest Doodle Divas t-shirt strays from the norm with placement.  I wanted to mix it up.  So instead of front and center, I toyed with enlarged to cover the entire front or something.

And the real life little divas adore her too.  I'm probably having some made up for kids as well.

Big Hair

I'm the 'bigger is better' generation. And when it came to hair, COLOSSAL was best. My most elaborate doodles were in the 80's with divas sporting mounds of hair supported by huge bows or that invisible wonder called "hair spray".

Hair volume reached a fever pitch with the invention of . . . WEAVES! Suddenly women of color went from hair barely beyond their temples to hair swaying in long strands well beyond their hips. 

Of course, times changed and big hair fell way to the more paired down styles of today. Even I never cared for the foot long bangs that stood at gravity defying verticals while the rest just kind of laid there.

But I also know their are those of you that, just like me, will always have a place in your heart for . . . BIG HAIR!!! :-)
