I know about pop-u-lar . . .

Popular girls.

The ones everyone knew or wanted to know. The ones who always looked perfectly put together . . . in sweatpants.

Their popularity was so exquisite, just a nod acknowledging your existence could shoot you a good 7-10 levels up the high school food chain.

I'm not sure what it is that makes really popular girls really popular. But I do know television and movies don't match my experience. I don't recall dramas, fallouts or evilness like the quartet in "Mean Girls"!

Additionally, the popular girls in my school weren't all skinny. They weren't all blondes. They weren't bimbos.

They were bright. They were gorgeous. They were popular.

They were high school divas!
